Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Un Espacio para la Ciencia permits the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools (such as ChatGPT, Bard, or similar), provided that their use is strictly limited to support tasks such as language refinement, structural organization, or translation.

However, authors must:

  • Explicitly declare in the manuscript that an AI tool was used, specifying which tool and for what purpose (e.g., grammar correction, translation, preliminary drafting of abstracts, etc.).

  • Retain full authorship of the manuscript, as AI tools cannot be listed as co-authors under any circumstances.

  • Assume complete responsibility for the content of the article, including its accuracy, originality, and scientific rigor.

The journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts in which the use of generative AI is found to be excessive, inappropriate, or undeclared, particularly if it compromises the academic integrity of the work.

In case of dispute regarding an editorial decision related to AI use, authors may submit a formal written appeal to the Editorial Committee, which will evaluate the case confidentially and collegially. Appeals must be submitted via email to: ueplc@manglareditores.com
