Mexican stock market companies accredited in sustainability criteria are certified in three areas (1) environmental care, (2) corporate social responsibility and (3) corporate governance. Consequently, from this certification, these companies would be expected to benefit from the market (capital attraction, price performance, value generation, among others) to compensate the investment they make in each market. For this reason, the objective of this research is to determine whether the performance of the share price of sustainable companies is higher than the performance of the share price of non-sustainable companies for the sector of Consumer Staples of the Mexican Stock Exchange. By analyzing the performance of the share price of sustainable companies and contrasting it with the performance of the share price of no-sustainable companies; applying a difference of independent averages it was found that sustainable companies outperform the share price performance than those companies that are not.
